The first in line is the 8900 Curve teasing your senses with its suave, sensual design and elegant exterior. Fully loaded, this device is a perfect successor to the 8300 series. The 480 x 360 display is a visual treat while theres also a microSD with 16GB support, Wi-Fi, integrated GPS and 3.2-megapixel camera with auto focus. If the EDGE speed fails to excite you, then you can always shift your attention to the Bold. But for the moment, the 8900 Curve is all set to rock Germany this month for 4.95.

Microsoft to buy RIM Blackberry? Microsoft buying RIM Blackberry is as impossible and baseless as the previous rumors about Microsoft buying Yahoo! Though Microsoft has been mentioned as the possible buyer, especially in the event that Google announced its interest in producing mobile phone operating systems. Google’s new system is sure to ruffle a few Microsoft feathers as it blatantly competes with the Windows Mobile powered devices launched by Microsoft! RIM Blackberry service is now available for Windows Mobile users as they can install it via the Blackberry Connect Software. RIM also has Virtual Blackberry for Windows Mobile in the pipeline which is open to Gmail users too (thanks to the agreement with Google). RIM has the unique edge over Microsoft by its ability to push email from all service providers while the latter is limited severely to Microsoft Exchange Services. For more details, click here! Trimble releases Nomad Rugged phone! The Trimble Nomad is a very rugged phone! Starting with an 806 MHz CPU which powers the device so that you have your mobile with you for 15 hours per day and that too on a battery charge! You also get a 1GB flash memory, GPS, Bluetooth, and a digital camera and barcode reader to flaunt! The device looks real sleek with a LED backlit VGA screen. The price of $1,699 is justified, thanks to the standard and IP67 rating! For more details, click here! Arima submits i-mate Ultimate 6150 for FCC approvaHere’s some really extra ordinary news! The i-mate Ultimate has been submitted to the FCC and also has been approved! But what’s surprising is that it was not i-mate but it’s Taiwanese Manufacturer Arima which had submitted this device to FCC! But the FCC approval does not necessarily mean that it’s available yet! In the meanwhile, here’s what you can expect in this phone. The device is powered by Windows Mobile 6 Professional with an Intel Bulverde 520 MHz processor. There’s a quad band GSM/EDGE support coupled with a tri band UMTS/HSDPA (850/1900/2100 or 850/1700/2100). It has a memory of 256 MB ROM and an additional 128 MB RAM with a Micro SD card slot. The Mini USB provides a high speed of 480 Mbps and is equipped with Wi-Fi, direct video out XGA, Bluetooth (plus EDR), and a 1530 mAh battery! The device has a real sleek look with a VGA 262k color LCD Touch Screen and comes with a 2.0 megapixel camera and FM Stereo Radio. Overall, this device looks good, but the real picture will be obtained when it hits the markets. E-Ten and Arima to collaborate! Taiwan’ popular handset dealer, E-Ten Information Systems and ODM Handset Manufacturer , Arima Communications will sign an agreement to develop the Ericsson Mobile Platform (EMP) powered 3G and 3.5G Smartphones! The very first device made post agreement is X800- a 3.5G Smartphone is all set to hit the market this year end! The X800 is all set to support HSDPA, GPS and Wi-Fi Technologies. There is also a major plan to launch four such devices before the year ends! E-Ten is aiming a total shipping of a whopping 300,000-400,00 units for the year and also outsource the production of 3G and 3.5G models to Arima and still continue outsourcing 2G models to Quanta Computers! Arima are bound to ship around 400,000 ODM Smartphones this year resulting in 13-15% of the projected revenues for the company for this fiscal year! A total of 1.78 million handsets were shipped in the last half of the year which was an increment from the 1.66 million shipped during the first half! But when compared to the previous year, the first half shipment of 3.44 million units had fallen down to 61.2% from the earlier year! Arima has shown revenue of NT$6.31 billion (US$ 192 million) in the first half and this indicated a decline of 62.6% from the same period in 2006! Hopefully, the new agreement would improve the shipping woes of Arima! Tags: RIM 8900 Curve Bold |
